my little corner of the world....

On Monday it was our anniversary.......13 years, funny to think that it was possible I could've had a tween! BUT God is all knowing & thankfully, He knew when I was ready to be a mommy....here's a pic!

then yesterday this happened!

half of me was so happy for him but half of me was sad....why?
because its just another sign that he really is growing up!
quoted from my friend's little girl "I can't like it!"
He, on the other hand, is way super excited!!!

and then today it was Walk to School Day
G's school was the featured school for our district so it was a big deal
and he kept reminding me where we had to go and
who was going to be there. So we got up super early to be out of the house by 6:30am so I could at least get some coffee at DD.
He was ready to go!
how convenient that his OBF Emma from Kindergarten was there too!
and then I  got to take a picture of the boy with a local celebrity! of sorts...
the Mayor of Nashville, Karl Dean

it was a really awesome school event and you can't help but notice the FedEx truck in the back, the FedEx men/women took up the kids' backpacks so they didn't have to carry them on our walk to school. You should've seen the look on Grant's face, he was afraid they were going to keep it for good!
and all I heard about for the past week was that the Mayor was going to be there, so when I said,"do you want me to take your picture with him", he suddenly had a spirit of shyness! He did it anyway and I think its pretty cool myself!

Happy Wednesday!

  2. I remember when mine lost her first tooth.... when she realized she got $ from the tooth fairy, I swear she started wiggling all her teeth because it seems like she started losing them all at once. :)

I know what you mean to about the idea of it being possible to have a tween. I have classmates who had babies during school & are now grandmothers. I am thankful I went another path!

  3. There were many things that impresed me in this post - the first lost tooth - the mayor's attention - FedEx's contribution - your adoration of your child - and more. But, what stood out for me were the "names" of the men in your life. I will never use the word "squeeze" without recalling your Main Squeeze and your priceless Little Squeeze. You are truly blessed.

Your post has blessed my life today. If you have time in your iFellowship visits, I invite you to stop by mine at #15 - Home For The Holidays.

  4. Congrats on your anniversary and your first lost tooth.

My daughter is 6 and we are all anxiously awaiting this day! She feels of them all often - hoping one will start to come loose. Nothing yet.

    This post made me smile!

    Happy iFellowship Day!

  5. Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday! What a neat idea for the FedEx to take the bookbags! And how cool he got to meet the Mayor! Hope you have a great day!
