a baby's journey

Every baby that comes into this world, panned or unplanned, is the truest and most tangible form of a miracle. It does not matter  where the baby was born, how it came into existence, or what the circumstances are after that. The baby is the gift. The baby is the breath of God, the touch of his hand, the warmth of his Spirit. The mother who carries her child in the womb cannot fathom the immense love that she will soon experience when this baby enters into the world. This journey I have longed to take. I have experienced the miracle of one baby and for that I will always be grateful and blessed. There is a God in Heaven who will reveal his plan to us in the coming months. It doesn't matter where the baby comes from, it only matters that it is a Gift, it matters only how the Gift is received and given back to the One who created it.

Update!

I have been one busy girl....not just with work but life in general.

I'll break it down for ya!

*Work- I like my job but still I want my own classroom. I know God has a plan so I am content with what I have. I am super busy and my days go by quickly which is good. I am looking forward to Fall break. Although, I might be working the first week which is considered "intercession" and I will make some extra money! I'm okay with that! I know that my job is important and I can only pray that I'm making some kind of difference!

*Home-Thankfully with my mom living with us, she keeps my laundry going, floors swept, carpets vacuumed, bathroom cleaned, etc. That in itself is a HUGE help to me. One less thing I have to overwhelm me. I'm planning on some home decorating stuff when break comes around. This Thursday is P/T conferences so I am going to get started on some fall decorating. I need to get eye exams scheduled for both G-man and myself. I need to get a dental cleaning scheduled for both of us, too!

*Personal-I feel like I struggle every day with all the emotional baggage that is poured on me from my family. Most of the time, I end up pushing it all aside just to focus on one thing. I can't really share a whole of details but portions of it are connected to marriage, being the only responible daughter to both parents who have made poor selfish choices when it comes to their senior years. my brother who could end up being homeless, and to top it all off, making a decision about a future child. Which I might add has been decided, and we have begun the process. I don't want to reveal our decision in this forum because its a private choice but I would greatly appreciate the prayers. We will wait and anticipate what God has planned.

*Extra stuff- when I am not at home, school, work, or church, we are heavily involved in Cub Scouts. I am a Den Leader again this year and I have about 11 boys. I think we are going to have a great year and lots of fun stuff is planned for them. I love that I can be involved with Grant and make memories with his crazy mom and dad. We are really enjoying it but it does take a lot of extra time to plan and commit to.

Ok, that's all I can muster up for now. At least you know, I'm still here and kickin'!!!

We went to the County Fair......

The Wilson County Fair is AWESOME! Locals and Out of Towners love this Fair. It's one of the most family friendly fairs. We didn't make it last year but this year, we made it a point to go. In years past, the weather has not been so favorable but this past Monday, the weather was Perfect! no humidity and low temps! They boy was anxious to get to the Midway of course but we had to fill our tummies with good Fair food. The local vendors are the best. I have learned to pass on the regular Midway fair food vendors. Even the pictures plastered all over the building look gross! I actually found exactly what I wanted to eat......a ginormous baked potato with bbq pork on top! YummO! Grant went for the good old standby....chicken strips. Bill ate some chicken on a stick which was pretty decent.
Grant had a lot of fun. He rode one ride three times in a row! He loves the "fun" houses and of course this year he was actually tall enough to ride the bumper cars. I warned him that he would get frustrated b/c he could barely push the pedal down to drive it, let alone have the arm strength to turn the wheel. I let him learn his lesson and when he came bounding off the exit ramp, he says "that's so lame!". Toldyaso! We ended the evening with a Ferris wheel ride and the guys had sno-cones while Momma ate a chocolate frozen banana!
They boy slept 'til almost 6am the next morning and he went to bed reeeeaaaalllll early on Tuesday night! We had a blast!

Grant vs. Ozzie

It was Scout night at the Nashville Sounds game last night. I love going becuase it's very family oriented with some exceptions but they really make the game and everything in between really worth the money.

Grant was chosen to race Ozzie around the bases. He had no idea but Bill set it all up (the advantage of being a Cubmaster and knowing someone on the inside). It was extremely hot so I had to convince Grant to keep his uniform shirt on and it wasn't easy!

This rare event made him super happy & excited!

I love when he's happy!
