So, I haven't blogged in quite some time, ehh? Well, not much has been worthy of the bloggosphere. Our church had the Childrens Easter musical today, and it went really well! I was very proud of all those kiddos! h.a.m is the most "rockingest" childrens church leader/director/teacher....she is way more awesome than me!
This past week I painted my hallway....it looks really good....glad I did it. Now I am on to the bedrooms minus the master BR. If Kmart would ever get the bunk beds in that I want, then it would push my progress along. Grant is itching to get those bunk beds! Once I get him all settled in, I will work on the other room, taking down the small molding & border. I migh just cry a few tears taking down that All About a Bear border....it means my baby is really no longer a baby. BOO HOO! ok, build a bridge Amanda...lol This plain ole ugly living room needs some paint but its going to take a lot of muscle to get that done. Another goal of mine is outside.....the cheap gazebo metal tent looking thing got bent during a storm last fall so its trash, and this weekend I told Bill to tell the neighbors that they could take our old patio furniture if they wanted it. They don't have a deck but they have a lot of people over when they have parties so I figured they'd get better use of it. Otherwise, it's next home would be the dump Once my deck is cleared off, it's going to look empty but I don't mind, eventually I want to get a patio set that we can just go out there and sit maybe around a small fire pit. ; )
I am already starting to think about what I will plan for Grant to do during the summer. Little Y day camp is one of my serious options, hopefully a couple of VBS' including ours. Hopefully we will be at the pool a lot too!
I am praying constantly that I will get a certain interim. It would so make my day...month...year! I have been trying to figure out some other ways to make some money so I can get some extras that I normally wouldn't splurge on. Well, thats about all.....done for now!

{sentimental value}
If there's one thing you should know about me is that I am very much the sentimental type. I only try to keep things that mean the most to me. Recently, I found out that my grandmother, a.k.a Mamaw's house is going to be sold & my aunt has been in the process of pulling things out to be divided among her children & grandchildren. None of these things have much financial value but they mean so much to me because they belonged to her.
Going L-R across:
This is my most favorite piece of furniture now, it's a buffet with a really long drawer on top & two drawers with two cubby holes on each side. It needs to be refinished on the top but I think the flaws make it more beautiful. The next item is just a small ceramic pot with a lid. It looks like it was used to serve beans in. I am going to use it for dips or small batches of soup. The blue plate in the boat shaped crystal bowl is a vintage piece. Not sure where it came from. The crystal dish is a unique piece & my aunt told me that it was used at
my parents' wedding in '70. The owls are just figurines that were on her mantle I think. I love owls, they are just so mysterious. The four mugs are coffee mugs that my grandaddy picked up on different trips. My aunt said that he used to always have a cup of coffee in his hand....hmmm, maybe that's where I get my love of coffee from (smile). Oh, & in the red mug there are two handkerchiefs that my grandaddy used. Then, there's the old Quaker Oats tin, I don't know how old it really is but I can't get the lid off either = ) The crystal plate is divided into three sections, my aunt said Mamaw used it a lot when she cooked dinner for guests. The next picture has a small ceramic or glass dish, a milk glass vase/cup & a set of three nesting dishes. The next glass platter is one that my Mamaw used for church dinners. I absolutely love the design in it. It looks like bubbles sticking together. The flower laden cloth is actually a bonnet that my great grandmother Vann wore whenever she was outside in the hot sun. The next picture is not just a handful of buttons but a popcorn tin FULL of buttons. I am still perplexed on how my Mamaw collected this many buttons & the crazy thing is, this is only one of two tins! The last picture is of two old Ball canning jars with the original metal lids & a wooden rolling pin made by one of my great uncles that both my great grad mother & Mamaw used in baking. I will treasure these mere belongings for as long as I am alive & hopefully they will get passed on to Grant & his family.

10 years
I was sick & tired of looking at this crappy window treatment for the past ten years that last week I decided...enough is enough. I took down all the blue striped ugliness so I could measure for new blinds & new curtains. The previous blinds were metal and had all sorts of bent shades. I took myself on down to the great American store called Wal Mart to look for what I needed. There was one set that I really liked but there was only one set of panels & I needed two....of course!!! Then I spotted the clearance section across the way & whadaya know...I found these curtains with an attached valance for $7.00/each!!! The rod was the most exepensive part coming in at $34.00. Then I foound this tassell to tie back the middle section.
you like?
I DO!!!
